The Milesight WS202 is a PIR (Passive Infrared) and light sensor featuring LoRaWAN® technology, designed for detecting motion or occupancy. It combines a PIR sensor with a built-in light sensor to enable trigger scenes, making it suitable for various applications such as smart homes, smart offices, schools, and warehouses.
Function Description:
The WS202 utilizes passive infrared technology to detect movement within a range of 6-8 meters. The integrated light sensor allows for linking PIR detection results to trigger specific scenes, enhancing automation capabilities. Sensor data, including PIR status, light status, and battery level, are transmitted in real-time using the standard LoRaWAN® protocol, which ensures encrypted radio transmissions over long distances with very low power consumption. Users can receive alarms and monitor data through the Milesight IoT Cloud or their own Application Server. The device can also function as a Milesight D2D (Device-to-Device) controller, sending control commands to trigger other Milesight D2D agent devices without a gateway.

Usage Features:

- General Settings: Customizable reporting interval (default 30 mins, range 1-1080 mins) for PIR, light status, and battery level. An "Occupied" status is reported immediately upon motion detection. An "Idle Time" setting (default 120s) determines when a "Vacant" status is reported after no motion.
- Illuminance Collection: Can be enabled or disabled. When disabled, the reporting interval automatically changes to 1080 mins.
- Threshold Settings: When illuminance collection is enabled, users can define "Bright" or "Dark" states based on light sensor data. If the PIR sensor is triggered and the light status meets the defined threshold, the WS202 will send immediate alarms.
- Milesight D2D Settings: Enables the WS202 to act as a D2D controller, sending 2-byte hexadecimal control commands to other Milesight D2D agent devices based on its occupied/bright, occupied/dark, or vacant status. This feature allows for local automation without a gateway. LoRa Uplink can be enabled to send PIR and light status to a gateway after D2D commands are sent.

- Detection Angle Control: Blocking stickers are provided to adjust the detection angle, useful for specific applications like workstations. Each sticker covers approximately a 180° range. Pasting stickers along the bottom of the PIR lens can change the detection area to 70° Horizontal, 60° Vertical.
Maintenance Features:

The device is not intended as a reference sensor, and Milesight disclaims responsibility for damages due to inaccurate readings. The device should also not be subjected to shocks or impacts.
