25 PRESSURE RELIEF
VALVE
25.1 Inspection
1. Check the valve and valve seat for condition. Also,
check the spring for damage.
2. Check the valve opening pressure (the oil
pressure when the engine is running at the rated
rpm). If the pressure is not correct, make an
adjustment by adding or removing shim. The
pressure tap (RP 1/8 thread (PS 1/8)) is located
near the oil filter.
