8. Referencing Real World
So far StarTracker is only aware of its own world, we are about to engage the real world by
referencing known points in the environment. Mapping should be o󰍒 during this process. So far

Generally, the StarTracker Y axis will point towards the talent or graphics location, and the X
axis points to the right, from the camera operator's perspective.
As shown in this illustration the X axis is perpendicular to Y. Use tape or targets on the 󰍔oor to
set up and measure the O-X distance. The position of the origin can be relocated later.
