6 ModVans CV1 Owner’s Manual V1.1
light poles, have a passenger get out and spot you. Make sure the spotter can see everything! Heed
this warning and you’ll be fine. Ignore it and you may hit something and cause damage.
Operation of the Ford Transit chassis systems, such as cruise control, dash heating and A/C, is covered in
your Ford Transit Owner’s Manual which is typically located in the glovebox.
Tire Changes
Instructions for changing a tire are in your Ford Transit Owner’s Manual. All items, such as the tire iron,
jack and spare tire are in their original Ford designated locations. The jack is in its original location,
under the passenger seat. Due to the CV1’s passenger seat swivel, access to the jack is more difficult,
but the jack can be retrieved and stored under the seat in its original position.
Cleaning
Your CV1’s popup top and rooftop A/C housing (or fan housing) are painted in automotive style base
coat/clear coat. Use the same cleaners and techniques as you would for your chassis body paint.
Do NOT use glass cleaner on your CV1’s popup top windows. These windows are made of plastic, not
glass, and glass cleaner can damage the plastic finish.
To avoid mildew, avoid closing your popup top when wet. If you must close the popup top when wet,
raise it and let it dry as soon as possible.
Wash your popup top canvas with soap, not detergent. You can read the canvas manufacturer’s
extensive recommendations at https://www.marlentextiles.com/top-gun-fr-care.html. In general, with
gentle cleaning and typical use, we do not expect that you will need to reapply water repellant.
Storage
To store your CV1, drain the fresh water system and turn off both the House Battery and optional Solar
Panel via the Lower Control Panel (instructions below). Then prepare your chassis for storage according
to the chassis manufacturer’s recommendations. If you plan to store your CV1 for an extended period,
pay careful attention to manufacturer’s recommendations for gas deterioration/oxidation and tires.
We recommend turning on your House Battery switch, then starting and running your CV1 for at least 30
minutes every month with the chassis A/C on. Turn the House Battery switch off when you are done.
This should keep the batteries charged and mitigate potential issues with turbos and other components
running without oil on startup.
When taking your CV1 out of storage, we recommend checking the function of each system and
appliance, including the smoke detector.
Maintenance
For the CV1 chassis, we recommend that you carefully follow the chassis manufacture’s maintenance
recommendations.
