8 ModVans CV1 Owner’s Manual V1.1
If either the house battery or the chassis battery falls below 9.6V, the ACR will not automatically
connect the two batteries. To charge the house battery in this condition, you will have to manually
override the ACR as explained above.
Storing or Parking
As mentioned above, to protect your house battery, it is best to keep it from draining below 11V. The
simplest way to do this is to turn off the house 12V system when storing or parking your CV1 for more
than 1-2 days. To do this, turn the House Battery switch in the Lower Control Panel to the Off position.
Charging via Shore Power
To charge your CV1’s battery with the integrated battery charger, plug your
shore power cable into the CV1 shore power outlet (round grey door located
on the driver’s side between the wheels) and a compatible 120V outlet. Then
turn on the inverter; the battery will not charge if the inverter is off. See 120V
System below for more information about the inverter.
High Capacity Battery (Optional)
The high capacity battery is a large battery that is installed in an aluminum box under the floor on the
passenger side of your CV1, just in front of the rear leaf spring. It is a sealed AGM battery and requires
no maintenance or any other special service or operational procedures. Be aware that the AGM battery
weighs 150 lbs service or repairs should only be performed by trained professionals with the proper
equipment necessary to service heavy objects under a vehicle.
120V System
The rooftop A/C and 120V outlets require 120V
power. Your CV1 includes an integrated 2000W
inverter/charger/transfer switch unit for 120V power
applications. To use 120V power, even when connect
to “shore power,” you must turn on the inverter. The
inverter uses some power, even when idle, so you
should turn it off when you are not plugged into shore
power and you don’t need to use 120V.
