Drilling the Right Side Piece
We will describe the drilling first. It is crucial that the drilling is done by an experienced tech. We no longer make wooden
LP side pieces so they cannot be replaced if they are poorly drilled or destroyed. Proceed at your own risk! Some Service
Centers may not want to mod Tributes for because of the risk and time associated.
1. Remove right wooden side piece and shield as described above. Use our PDF template to make accurate guide
holes. Draw line to connect them all and make sure they're level.
2. Drill five small holes through approx .13.” Then step up to approx .33,” etc...
3. When drilling the final .5" hole, start on the inside of piece and go slowly. Make sure everything is braced. If the
outside of the wood is not smooth, the overlay will not stick properly.
4. Add counter bore last. Drill from the inside. Leave 3/16” wood for jack assembly. Start conservatively and check
depth often. You need just the right amount of room for jack and nut to secure. If you go too far, you will chip the
wood. If you don't go far enough, the nuts will not thread onto the jacks.
5. Clean side piece with alcohol and add overlay carefully. Use the plastic transparency to line up with holes. Then
use the roller to flatten the overlay from the inside out. Avoid air bubbles!
Wiring
The Tribute's 600/602 wiring connects to the MOD PCB the same way as the Stage's wiring. However, the solder points on
the actual 600/602 circuit boards are different.
1. Solder Wire Assembly #1 to 602 board.
a. Red to + side of C4 (+10V)
b. Black to – side of C6 (-10V)
c. Green to – side C1 (ground)
*Note: Black wire in picture above corresponds to yellow wire in kit.
