to wear. They are attached to the seat, which can be moved wlthout readjust-
ing the belt. Shoulder harnesses are provided for front and rear seat oc-
cupants and MUST be fastened for take-off and landing operattons.
SAFETY HARNESS
The single diagonal type harness is designed so the chest strap crosses
diagonally from the out- board shoulder to an attachment polnt as low on the
inboard hlp as possible. Care should be taken to conform with thls location
In adjusting the chest strap and Inboard belt length. Thls diagonal canfigura-
tion places the body centersf-gravlty inslde the triangle formed by the chest
strap and lap belt.
The lap belt should be adjusted comfortably tight. As a
resul? the body Is restrleted from rolllng out toward the unrestricted shoulder,
or "open" slde of the harness, upon forward impact. Refer to Flgure 7% for
proper seat belt/ham#s adjustment.
DOORS, WtNDOWS & EXlfS
CABIN DOOR
Access to the cabin is provided by a door located on the rlgM side of the
fuselage.
Thts door has inside and outskle operating handles. The outside
door handle can be locked with a key specifically prwlded for it. The door
has two Iatchlng mechanlsrns, one located at the top of the door and one at
the aft, center of the door. Should the dour come open in flight the flylng
qualities of the aircraft will not be affected. Procedures for dosing the door in
fllght are contained In Section Ill.
PILOT'S WINDOW
A fresh air pllot's wlndow is located In the left main cabin wlndow. This wln-
dow is generally used for fresh air for prolonged ground operations. The win-
dow should not be opened in RlgM above 132 KIAS.
EMERGENCY EXITS
The cabin door is the prlmary emergency exit from the cabln. If an emergen-
cy exlsts where a probable crash landlng wlli occur, the door a be un-
latched latched to prevent lamming of the door during the crash e bag-
age compartment access door can be used as a means of au P illary exit.

cwer, pull the white knob and Ilft up red handle. To verify re-engagement

engage pln in cam slide of latch mechanism; push in on whlte button untll It
snaps In place In hole. Replace cover. Operate outside handle In normal
