Why is there vignetting or uneven brightness in my Motic Microscope's field of view?

If you're experiencing vignetting or uneven brightness, or if the field of view is only partially visible on your Motic Microscope, several factors could be the cause. First, check that the lamp is installed correctly. Ensure the filter slider and phase slider are in their correct positions. Also, verify that the condenser is mounted properly and that the aperture diaphragm isn't closed too far. Confirm the revolving nosepiece is clicked into position. If you have a Mod. AE21, check the optical path selector lever and set it to the correct position.
