Using the Private/Group Speaker
You can disable or enable the speaker on your i550plus phone for
Nextel Direct Connect use. The default setting is Speaker On. When the
speaker is on, the caller’s voice can be heard over the speaker. When the
speaker is off, the caller’s voice can only be heard through the earpiece
of your phone.

Press * then # then 2.
Press k. p will appear on your display. A brief alert tone will
notify you of incoming Private or Group calls.
