What to do if the Napoleon Ascent BL36NTE-1 pilot sparks but will not light?
    • P
      paynemichaelAug 10, 2025
If the pilot sparks but doesn't light, several factors could be at play. First, check that the incoming gas line ball valve is open. If you're using propane, ensure the tank isn't empty. Air in the pilot supply line can also prevent lighting, so repeat the ignition process multiple times to purge the line. For models with a thermocouple, verify the wiring polarity is correct and ensure the pilot assembly and valve are properly grounded. You may also try resetting the program by holding the reset button on the receiver until you hear two beeps.

Why is carbon depositing on surfaces of my Napoleon Ascent BL36NTE-1?
    • B
      btaylorAug 15, 2025
Carbon deposits on the glass, logs, or combustion chamber surfaces of your Napoleon Indoor Fireplace often indicate that the air shutter is improperly adjusted. Return the air shutter to its specified opening. Also, make sure the air shutter opening isn't blocked by lint or other obstructions.

What to do if the flame is impinging on the glass, logs, rocks, media or combustion chamber of my Napoleon Ascent BL36NTE-1 Indoor Fireplace?
    • N
      Nicole ToddAug 19, 2025
If the flame is hitting the glass, logs, or combustion chamber, first ensure the media is correctly positioned. Try opening the air shutter to increase primary air. Check the input rate by verifying the manifold pressure and orifice size against the rating plate specifications. Confirm that the door gaskets are intact and create a tight seal, and that the vent liners are free of holes and properly sealed. Ensure correct installation of venting and that minimum rise per foot has been adhered to for any horizontal venting. Clean the glass with a recommended gas fireplace cleaner regularly to prevent permanent marks. Also check the door seal and exhaust for damage. If the room is in negative pressure, increase the fresh air supply.

How to fix a Napoleon Indoor Fireplace remote that lights but has no spark or flame?
    • C
      Courtney DiazAug 26, 2025
If the remote lights up but there's no spark or flame, start by replacing the batteries in both the receiver and the remote. Ensure the fireplace is being operated by the same remote that turned it on. If there's an error with synchronization, reset both the receiver and the remote. Check that the remote isn't too far from the receiver. Inspect the wire connector pins for bends and straighten them if necessary. Finally, check the valve wiring for damage, and replace the valve if needed.

What to do if the pilot will not light on my Napoleon Indoor Fireplace and makes noise with no spark?
    • J
      Joseph HaynesAug 30, 2025
If the pilot won't light and makes noise without a spark, verify the thermocouple/sensor is clean and the wiring is undamaged. Also, verify the interrupter block isn't damaged or too tight. Ensure connections from the pilot assembly are tight and not grounding out. The sensor rod may also need cleaning.

Why is the main burner flame blue and lazy in my Napoleon Ascent BL36NTE-1?
    • L
      Lisa HallSep 4, 2025
A blue, lazy, transparent flame from the main burner usually indicates a blockage in the vent. Remove any blockage you find. Also, incorrect installation could be the cause, so refer to the venting section to ensure correct installation.
