•Drainwaterfromthefuellterhousing.
•Checkoillevel
•Cleanexternalsurfacesoftheengineand
accessoriestopreventdirtorsnowbuildup.
•Cleanoutsideandinbetweenradiatorstopreventdirt
orbuildup.
COLDAMBIENTPROTECTION(CAP)
CAPsafeguardstheenginefromdamagecausedbyprolonged
idleatnoloadduringcoldweather.Thisfeatureshouldonlybe
disabledforspecializedapplications.Enginedamagemayoccur
ifCAPisdisabled.
CAPmaintainsenginecoolanttemperaturebyincreasingengine
rpmtoaprogrammedvaluewhenambientairtemperatureis
below0°C(32°F),coolanttemperatureisbelow65°C(149°F),
andenginehasbeenidlingatnoloadforover5minutes.
Enginespeedwillrampupto1,400rpmandwillmaintainat
1,400rpmuntilcoolanttemperaturehasreached75°C(167°F).
HOTWEATHEROPERATION
1.Beforeoperatingtheengineabove21°C(70°F),checkor
servicethefollowing:
•Fullbatterycharge
•Conditionofotherelectricalequipment
•Checkbeltsforseverecracks,excessivewear,or
missingmaterial
•Coolingsystemleaks
•Correctcoolantandcoolingsystemlevel
