Change the name for a WiFi
network
For each WiFi network, the WiFi network name (also referred to as the SSID) is randomly
generated and is on the router label. You can change the default network name. The
network name can be up to 32 characters long and is case-sensitive.
NOTE: If Smart Connect is enabled, the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz radios use
the same WiFi network name (SSID). To use a different SSID for each band,
disable Smart Connect.
To change the name for a WiFi network:
1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to the
router network.
2. Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
A login window displays.
3. Enter the router admin user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified when you set
up your router. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home page displays.
4. Select Wireless.
The Wireless Setup page displays.
5. In the Name (SSID) field, enter a new name.
6. Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
Change the WiFi password or the
WiFi security
The WiFi password is different from the admin password that you use to log in to the
router.
Your router comes with preset security settings, which are printed on the router label.
We recommend that you use the preset security settings, but you can change the settings.
We also recommend that you do not disable the WiFi security.
