Overview

The Nice DPRO924 is a control unit designed for automating sectional balanced doors. It is compatible with motors featuring an encoder or Hall effect position control system, as well as electromechanical limit switches. This unit is particularly suited for connection with Nice Sumo motors and Opera System devices. It supports various accessories, including radio receivers with "SM" (SMXI, OXI, etc.) coupling.

Function Description

The DPRO924 control unit manages the opening, closing, and stopping of sectional doors. It can operate in different modes:

  • Hold-to-run movement: Requires continuous command input.
  • Semi-automatic mode: Allows for opening and closing with recognized positions.
  • Automatic mode: Features adjustable pause time for automatic closing, provided positions are recognized.

The unit incorporates safety features, including inputs for resistive-type sensitive edges (8k2) or optical sensitive edges (OSE), which cause an immediate stop and short reverse maneuver upon activation. It also supports photocells for obstacle detection during closing. The "Phototest" function enhances the reliability of safety devices by checking them before each maneuver.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Supply: 230V~50/60Hz (DPRO924) or 120V~50/60Hz (DPRO924/V1).
  • Maximum power absorbed by the network: 500W.
  • Class of insulation: 1 (requires a safety grounding system).
  • Emergency supply: With accessory PS224.
  • Service output: 24V (-30%/+50%), 200mA.
  • Board fuses: F2: 2A type T; F1: 20A type auto.
  • Phototest outlet: 24V, maximum current 200mA.
  • OUT1 output: For 1 flasher ELDC, programmable with Oview.
  • OUT2/OUT3 output: With clean contact (relay), programmable with Oview.
  • Aerial input: 52ohm for RG58-type cable or similar (for OXI New Generation, use the aerial connector on the receiver).
  • STOP input: For contacts with 8.2 Ω constant resistance or OSE optical type; in self-learning, a variation from the stored status triggers the "STOP" command.
  • ALT input: For Normally Closed (NC) contacts in the safety circuit.
  • SbS input: For Normally Open (NO) contacts, programmable with Oview.
  • Open/Close input: For Normally Open (NO) contacts, programmable with Oview.
  • Photo/Photo2 input: For Normally Closed (NC) contacts.
  • Radio coupling: SM connector for SMXI, OXI, OXI New Generation, OXIBD receivers.
  • IBT4N coupling: For IBT4N accessory for Oview connection or IT4WiFi.
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +55°C.
  • Protection class: IP55 with undamaged container.
  • Dimensions: 310 x 210 x 125 mm.
  • Weight: Approximately 4 kg.

Usage Features

  • Control Unit Buttons: "OPEN," "STOP," and "CLOSE" buttons on the control unit are used for controlling the automated system and for programming.
  • Memory Deletion: The control unit's memory can be completely deleted, restoring default settings. This involves setting DIP switches, pressing the STOP button, and then setting DIP switches to OFF.
  • Learning Positions: The unit can learn opening and closing positions with an incremental encoder. This procedure involves a sequence of steps using DIP switches and the control buttons. Three positions can be programmed: maximum closing, maximum opening, and desired partial opening.
  • Automatic Closing Pause Time: The pause time before automatic closing can be set and modified.
  • Speed Modification: The opening, opening slowdown, closing, and closing slowdown speeds can be adjusted using the Oview accessory or the board keys.
  • Standby Mode: The "Total stand by" function reduces power consumption, useful for extending buffer battery life. In this mode, inputs and outputs are switched off, and the OK LED flashes more slowly.
  • Phototest Mode: This mode checks safety devices before each maneuver, ensuring the system operates only if everything is OK.
  • Buffer Battery Connection: The unit supports a PS224 buffer battery (7.2 Ah with built-in charger) for emergency supply. This connection should only be made after all installation and programming phases are complete.
  • Status Light and Diagnostics: A 24V - 5W max warning light can be connected to the control unit. This light indicates the safety chain status, correct operation, or diagnostic messages.
  • Open and Close Block: A two-way DIP switch on the button panel board allows enabling or disabling the Open and Close buttons. The STOP button remains active regardless of this setting.
  • Oview Programming Unit: The Oview unit allows for comprehensive management, maintenance, and diagnosis of the automated system. It connects via an IBT4N interface and can be used to access transmitter parameters if an OXI radio receiver is present.

Maintenance Features

  • Periodic Checks: The system should be checked periodically, including cables, springs, and supports, for imbalances, wear, or damage.
  • Safety Device Learning: After connecting safety devices or modifying DIP switches, a "Learning about the safety devices" phase must be performed. This ensures the control unit recognizes the connected devices and settings.
  • Force Learning: After position learning, the control unit must perform 4 complete maneuvers to learn the required handling forces. During this phase, the OK LED flashes red and green alternately, and the control unit operates at maximum force. If speed or slow-down positions are modified, or if sensitivity is activated, the force learning phase must be repeated.
  • Diagnostics: The OK LED provides diagnostic signals through various flashing patterns (red, green, orange) to indicate errors such as photocell triggering, force limiter intervention, STOP input activation, internal parameter errors, maximum maneuver limit exceeded, internal electrical circuit errors, or automation blockage.
  • Disposal: The product must be disposed of according to local regulations for waste separation and recycling. It should not be discarded with domestic waste due to potential hazardous substances.
