  If the monitor and viewfinder are blank on your Nikon Digital Camera, it could be due to the camera being off, the battery being exhausted, or the camera being in standby mode to save power. Also, the monitor and viewfinder cannot be used simultaneously, or the camera may be connected to a computer via USB, or to a TV via A/V or HDMI cable, or interval timer shooting is in progress. Press the x button to alternate between displays.

  If you cannot edit pictures and movies on your Nikon Digital Camera, editing other than Black border cannot be performed on pictures shot with Image size of I 3984×2656, u 3968×2232, O 1920×1080 or H 2992×2992. Pictures recorded with easy panorama cannot be edited. Confirm the conditions that are required for editing. Pictures and movies taken with cameras other than COOLPIX P500 cannot be edited.

  You might not be able to charge the battery by connecting your Nikon Digital Camera to a computer if 'Off' is selected for 'Charge by computer' in the setup menu. Also, battery charging stops when the camera is turned off or when the computer is suspended (sleeping), and the camera may turn off. Depending upon computer specifications, settings, and status, charging the battery inserted in the camera may not be possible via computer connection.

  If the date and time of recording are not correct on your Nikon Digital Camera, it is likely that the camera clock has not been set. In this case, still pictures have a time stamp of “00/00/0000 00:00”, and movies are dated “01/ 01/2011 00:00.” To fix this, set the correct date and time using Time zone and date in the setup menu.
