4.1.1 Cleaning the Main Body Exterior Parts and the Remote Control Pad
Removing light stains (e.g., dust)
Use a silicone cloth.
Removing heavy stains (e.g., fingerprints, oils or fats)
Use gauze moistened with a small amount of diluted neutral detergent.
4.1.2 Decontaminating the Product
If decontamination is required, use 70% medicinal alcohol.
Precautions on decontamination
• Using organic solvent may cause discoloration of plastic parts.
• Never use any of hydrogen peroxide (H
2
O
2
) decontamination methods. Doing so may degrade the precision
components in the device.
Handling of hazardous specimens
If any sample or specimen comes in contact with this product, ensure that the specimen is safe.
If it is a hazardous sample or specimen, take necessary actions according to the regulations of the facility.
4.2 Storage of the Product
When storing the product, attention should be paid to the following:
• Store this system in a location with low humidity where mold is unlikely to form. For details on the storage
environment, refer to “Environmental conditions” in 6.2 Physical Properties in Chapter 6, “Specifications”.
• During storage, place a dust-proof cover over the equipment to prevent dust accumulation.
• Before placing the dust-proof cover, turn off the power switch on the microscope main body (set it to the
“O” side) and wait until the D-LEDI cools down (approximately 30 minutes).
4.3 Periodic Inspections (Charged)
Periodic inspections (charged) are recommended in order to maintain the performance of this product. For
details, please contact your Nikon representative.
