Trouble Check point
Unable to control
microscope functions.
(Or incorrect control
results.)
• Check that the Nikon 80i/90i microscope is used. This function cannot be
used with a microscope from a different company or other Nikon
microscope models.
• Check that the microscope is turned on.
• Check that the microscope is ready for operation. It takes about 30
seconds for the microscope to be ready.
• Check that the USB cable is connected securely between the DS-U2 and
the digital imaging head on the 80i microscope or the 90i microscope.
• Check that the hub between the microscope and the DS-U2 is within a
level in the tree structure. Using a hub within a level is recommended.
• Check that the USB cable provided with the microscope is used to
connect the microscope and the DS-U2.
• Check that the application software designed for control of the Nikon
80i/90i microscope is used.

• Check that the microscope initial setting is performed.
• Check that the registration is changed if the objective or filters are
replaced.
