In
order
to
prevent
electric
shock
and
damage
to
the
microscope,
always
turn
off the
power
switch
(flip
it
to
the
side)
and
unplug
the
power
cord
before
replacing
the
lamp.

In
order
to
prevent
burns,
allow
the
lamp
to
cool
before
replacing
it
by
waiting
at
least
30
minutes
after
using.

Use
a
6
V-30
W
halogen
lamp
(PHILIPS
5761).
@
Do
not
touch
the
glass
portions
of
the
lamp
with
your
bare
hands.
Doing
so
will
cause
fingerprints,
grease,
etc.,
to
burn
onto
the
lamp
surface,
reducing
the
illumination
provided
by
the
lamp.
If
you
do
get
any
fingerprints
or
dirt
on
the
lamp,
wipe
it
clean.

After
replacing
the
lamp,
make
sure
that the
lamp
cover
is
attached
securely.
Never
use
the
lamp
while
its
cover
is
off.
Confirm
that
the
power
switch
is
off
(i.e.,
that
it
is
flipped
to
the
>”
side).
Securely
push
the
lamp
into
the
socket
pin
holes
as
far
as
it
will
go.
(Do
not
touch
the
glass
portion
of
the
lamp
with
your
bare
hands.)
Attach
the
lamp
cover
securely.
