Turn
the
condenser
focus
knob
to
lower
the
condenser
holder
as
far
as
it
will
go.

clamp
screw
on

left
side
with
the
aperture
scale
on
the
condenser
facing
to
the
front.

raise

center
the
condenser
so
that
the
light
passing
through
the
condenser
forms
the
image
at
the
proper
position
on
the
specimen (i.e., at the center of the optical path).

10x

diaphragm

its
minimum
setting.

forms

centering

appears
roughly
at
the
center

40x
objective
into
the
optical
path.
Turn
the
fine
focus
knob
to
focus

the
specimen.

condenser
focus
knob
so
that
the
image
of
the
field
diaphragm
forms
on
the
specimen.

Adjust

condenser
centering
screws
so
that
the
image
of
the
field
diaphragm
appears
at
the
center
of
the
eyepiece
view
field.
This
adjustment
is
easier
to
make
if
you
adjust
the
size
of
the
field
diaphragm
to
slightly
smaller
than
the
eyepiece view field.
