Condenser is not installed properly.
Install the condenser correctly. (P.35)
Lamp is not installed properly.
(for TS100/TS100-F only)
Install the lamp correctly. (P.34)
Dirt or dust on lens (condenser,
objective, eyepiece).
Clean the lens. (P.46)
Specimen holder on the stage is in
optical path.
Move the holder.
Phase slider (or NAMC slider) is in
midway position.
Slide to click-stop position.
Provided diffuser is not inserted.
(for TS100LED MV/TS100LED-F MV only)
Insert the diffuser into the filter holder.

Filter is not inserted properly.
Insert the filter correctly. (P.17)
Unwanted filter is in the optical path.
Remove all unwanted filters from the
optical path.
Optical path changeover knob position is
wrong.

Image dark on one side. (One side of the viewfield
(up, down, right, or left) is not focused.)
Causes Corrective Measures
Revolving nosepiece is not in click-stop
position.
Rotate to click-stop position.
Image shifts during focus. (Becomes asymmetrically
defocused when moving the focal point.)
