2 OPERATION
Platform structure
• Presence and condition of platform safety chain.
• Presence, security, and condition of maintenance safety pins.
• Platform clear of any tools, supplies, or materials that might be a safety
hazard during normal operation.
NOTICE! Platform capacity is 2,000 pounds distributed over total platform
area or 500 pounds concentrated load on any one quadrant.
Tires
To minimize the risk of tire/wheel failure and loss of vehicle
control, when servicing tire/wheels:
• Do not use cleaning solvent on tires. Solvents cause deterioration of the
rubber.
• Never inate tires with air from systems using alcohol evaporators.
• Never mix rim parts of dierent manufacturers or dierent sizes.
• Do not use damaged parts.
1. Check condition and pressure. Correct cold pressure is 65 PSI (4.6
kg/cm
2
) on rear tires and 80 PSI (5.62 kg/cm
2
) on front tires.
2. Lug nut torque is 120 ft-lbs
Regularly check tires and wheels for proper tire ination and
for broken or missing wheel studs/nuts. Check specications in this manual or
tire sidewall for proper tire inations. Wheel or tire failure could result in loss
of vehicle control.
Hydraulic System
1. Check level of hydraulic oil by observing sight gauge on hydraulic tank
(behind operator station). The correct uid is MOBIL DTE-13.
NOTE: Check hydraulic oil level with platform raised about 1 foot to allow
access to oil ller cap.
Electrical System
1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check that headlights, taillights,
stoplights, backup lights, and spotlights are operational.
2. Check fuel gauge on instrument panel (or on fuel tank) for sucient fuel
for the day's operation.
Engine and Transmission
1. Raise platform, apply safety stops and open engine cover.
2. Check engine oil level.
3. Check coolant level in radiator.
4. Check fuel lter for presence of water. Drain if necessary.
