5. Check condition and tension of all drive belts.
6. Close engine cover.
7. With the transmission shift lever set in Neutral position and parking brake
set, turn ignition switch to the RUN position.
• Check that LOW VOLTS and LOW OIL PRESS indicators are
illuminated.
• Check that HIGH WATER TEMP and BRAKE FAULT indicators ash
briey and then go out.
• Check that REMOTE SWITCH OFF indicator is not illuminated. If
illuminated, set engine switch on platform to RUN position.
8. Start engine and allow to warm up at idle speed for a few minutes.
NOTICE! The instrument panel ignition switch is of the anti-restart type. Once
the engine has been cranked, the switch must be returned to "OFF" before
the engine can be cranked again.
NOTICE! The engine starter will not engage unless the transmission shift
lever is in neutral and both ignition switches (chassis instrument panel and
platform remote control pendant) are in "RUN" position. When these
conditions exist, the starter is engaged by turning either switch to "START".
NOTE: For diesel cold weather starting, refer to the next page.
9. Check operation of horn and power steering.
10. Check operation of stabilizers.
• Set handbrake and check for green indicator light on instrument panel.
• Using toggle switches located on instrument panel, toggle both the
OPERATIONAL SAFETY switch and the stabilizer DOWN switch at the
same time.
NOTE: For the lift and stabilizer to operate, the "Operational (Platform)
Safety" switch must be actuated at the same time as the lift and stabilizer
switches.
11. With stabilizers extended, check operation of platform lift, using toggle
switches on instrument panel.
To prevent dangerous and damaging contact with obstacles or
power lines, conrm sucient clearance before raising or platform.
12. Check operation of pendant-mounted remote controls on platform (these
can be operated from the ground).
13. If all of the above checks are satisfactory, the unit is ready to service
aircraft. If trouble is discovered during any of the above checks, report the
problem to the proper maintenance personnel for correction before further
operation.
