Operation
A 5-4
Part 331235C
E 2003 Nordson Corporation
Part A: System Overview
Initial Gun Use
Perform this procedure when a gun is first put into service.
1. Make sure that the maximum kV setting (95 kV Sure Coat guns; 100 kV
Versa-Spray guns) appears on the digital display in the STD mode with
the AFC function on.
2. See Figure A 5-2. Press the VIEW key (4) to display A.
3. Trigger the gun and obtain the desired spray pattern by adjusting the
flow rate and atomizing air pressures.
4. Record the A output with no parts in front of the gun.
5. Monitor the A output daily, under the same conditions. A significant
increase in A output indicates a probable short in the gun resistor. A
significant decrease indicates a failing resistor or voltage multiplier.
