Ethernet Base Module

The Ethernet Base Module (EBM) performs central processing functions for any
Passport 4400 unit (4430/4450/4455).
This chapter contains information on the following features:
• Attaching Cables to the Ethernet Base Module on page 3-3
• Management Port on page 3-4
• Frame Relay DCE Serial Access Port (Port 1) on page 3-4
• Ethernet Access Port on page 3-6 (10BASE-T)
The Ethernet Base Module includes the following:
• Processor and memory
• Serial access port
• Management port
• Ethernet interfaces (10BASE-T)
• Optional SIMMs.

– 16 Mbyte DRAM SIMM
