1.2 Speedroller Heavy
The Novoferm Speedroller Heavy is an electrically driven
fast action roller door. These doors are used in industrial
and commercial buildings for purposes of energy saving,
draught exclusion and climate control.
Specification/construction
The Novoferm fast action roller door type Speedroller is not
fitted with balance springs. The door is built up of horizontal
profiles, which are wound on a steel roller above the door
opening by means of an electric motor/gearbox. An optional
tensioning system in the vertical guides ensures that the door
curtain remains tightly tensioned during operation and in the
closed position. A reinforced 3 mm PVC door curtain material
with integrated wind bars is used. A vision section is available
as standard. The closing edge of the door consists of an
aluminium beam fitted with a flexible rubber floor seal. Vertical
side guide channels fitted with brush seals, guide and seal the
door panel. The side channels can be opened for assembly and
maintenance purposes.

Drive
The drive unit consists of an electric motor/gearbox unit, which
drives the drum directly and is fitted as standard with an anti-
roll-off device. Drive unit mounted on the right (standard
location) or on the left.
Controls
The control system incorporates a variety of functions such as :
• open position duration either via a delay timer or via "push-
open/push-closed" operation.
•"Service mode"
•LED-indicators enabling rapid fault finding.
• choice of permanently open or permanently closed.
Operation
The control box has 2 push buttons (open-close) as standard,
an emergency/stop switch and a 4-pole disconnectable main
switch. Various actuators can be used: pull switch, key switch,
push button, photocell, radar, induction loop detection or remote
control. Other types on request.

Safety
•the door can be cranked open in the event of a power
failure.
•the bottom beam is fitted with a self-testing safety edge,
which stops the door and immediately causes it to re-open if
an obstacle is encountered during closure.
•the side guide channels are are fitted as standard with a
safety photocell with a reflector (400 mm from the floor). The
door will not close if the beam is broken.
