SLEWING RING INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
MEASURING MAXIMUM AXIAL MOVEMENT
1. While the unit is attached to the excavator, position the Demolition Grab in the
vertical position.
2. Using a dial indicator (t40), lock the base of the dial indicator onto the lower frame of
the Demolition Grab. Indicate the other end of the dial onto the top bracket face as
shown. Using the excavator, slightly rock the Demolition Grab back and forth using
slight stick movement. Note the movement shown by the dial. Take this reading
(d59) in four places. If your readings are greater than shown, please contact the
NPK Service Department at 800-225-4379.
