Supported Synchronization Methods
TheGraphicstoSDIpageprovidestwomethodsforsynchronizingtheSDIoutputtoa
commonsyncsource—pixel‐accurateorframe‐accuratesynchronization.
• Pixel‐accuratesynchronizationsynchronizesthepixelscanningoftheSDIoutputto
thehousesyncsignal.Whenusingpixel‐accuratesynchronization,theSDIrefreshrate
isdeterminedby
thesyncsignal.
• Frame‐accuratesynchronizationsynchronizestheframerateoftheSDIoutputtothe
housesyncsignal.ThesyncsignaldeterminestheavailableSDIsignalformats.
Supported Synchronization Signals
TheNVIDIAdriversupportsthefollowingexternalsynchronizationsignaltypes:
• SDI
• CompositeBi‐level(NTSCorPALsourcesusebi‐levelcompositesignals.)
• CompositeTri‐level(HDTVsourcescommonlyusetri‐levelcompositesignals.)
Connecting to an External Synchronization Source
Touseanexternalsyncsource:
1 ConnectthesyncsignaltotheINPUTBNCconnector.
Youcanconnectmultiplesystemstothesamehousesyncbydaisy‐chainingthehouse
synccabletoeachcardusingBNCT‐connectors.
2 FollowtheinstructionsinBasicSDISetupforsettingupyour
SDIsystemtousethe
externalsyncsignal.
Thedriverwillnotdetectavalidsyncsignaluntilthecorrectsignaltypeisconfigured
intheNVIDIAControlPanel.
