Installation: Configuration
45
External Demand Mode Configuration:
Use this mode when the unit is being enabled by an external contact closure to the
Remote Enable contacts, or by a BMS system. These systems require tank sensing
and control independent of the heat pump; no sensor will be connected to the heat
pump from the tank in these modes.
On the “Configure” screen:
1. Set “Demand Mode” to “External”
2. Set the following parameters as necessary:
Table 9: External/BMS Mode Key Parameters
All parameters on the “configure“ screen. Service jumper required.
Parameter Default Range Description
Inlet Cut-Out Di. 15 15-100*
When inlet temp reaches (Target Outlet Temp - Cut
Out Dierential), stop compressor.
Target Outlet
Temp
120 120-160 Target outlet water temp from the heat pump.
*Cut-Out di should always cut-out the demand at 115 deg F. or lower. Adjust as needed as per Target
Outlet Temp.
Additional Parameter Configuration:
Additional parameters are available to aect unit operation in all operating modes:
Table 10: Additional Parameters
All parameters on the “configure“ screen. Service jumper required.
Parameter Default Range Description
Defrost Cut-Out 35 35-100 Evaporator temperature that ends a call for defrost.
Drain Time 1 1-5
Number of minutes to sense water in the drain pan
before suspending operation.
Purge Cut-Out 115 115-160
Outlet temperature that ends post purge after a heat
demand ends.
Quiet Mode O Special
A 7 day schedule can be set to enforce "Quiet
Mode" at certain times of day.
Note that the heat pump will allow itself to exceed the target outlet temperature if
incoming water is too hot, flow is too low, and/or during high capacity conditions,
up to its maximum operating temperature for the current ambient conditions.
