User authentication
If you select Store in the Printer, the print jobs that do not require authentication
will not be printed when received, but will be stored in the Printer until they are
printed by a user operation.
This setting allows you to check and delete unnecessary jobs before printing, thus
reducing printing costs.
Since the jobs that are not printed by operation of the user are automatically
deleted after a given time, this setting also reduces the print queue and printouts
that are left unattended.
When print jobs are stored in the Printer, the display of the Ready screen or the
Print Mode top screen is as follows.
Press the Store in the Printer button to display the following print job selection
screen.
You can make a selection in the list of le names of print jobs stored in the printer,
and delete and print jobs.
Notes
When storing jobs with XPT connection, the names of les are not displayed
on the print job selection screen. In such a case, select the print jobs based
on the reception date.
When storing jobs with LPR or FTP connection, Host character encoding
must be set to either ASCII/UTF-8 or ShiftJIS (see

page 116).
The print jobs stored in the Printer are deleted automatically after the time
set in Print Job Auth. Time (see
&
page 205) has elapsed.
