DECT 5000
The handset display lights up weakly or not at all.
The batteries in the phone are not sufciently charged. Charge the batteries. Further informa-
tion is provided in Section Putting the Telephone into Operation on Page 12.
When the corresponding function is activated (refer to Alert Signal for Low Battery Charge
on Page 21), you will hear an alert signal when the handset battery charge is too low�
The handset does not ring although the display indicates a call is being received.
The ringing tone has been switched off� Press and hold the STAR key for 3 seconds to deac-
tivate the muting function�
I want to execute a function. The telephone requests the PIN.
In its default setting, the PIN is 0000� If you have saved a personal PIN, enter this personal
PIN when the respective prompt appears� Further information is provided in Section Chang-
ing the PIN on Page 23�
How do you enter letters in order to dene names for contacts in the phone book, for
example.
The letters on the keys correspond to the standard character set� Refer to the following page
for the range of characters in the code page�
