Checking the optical axis displacement by the revolving axis

Gradually reduce the inter-
pupillary distance while observ-
ing through the standard eyepiece.
The centers are
aligned at first.

deviated as shown
below.
(2) Searching for the revolving axis from the optical axis displacement
amount and direction checked in (1) above
The revolving axis is as shown below
in the case of (1).
The triangle formed by A, B and
O is always constant in shape.
