Taking Pictures by Remote Control
Set the mode dial to "P", "A", or "M".
Press the [ ] button.The first menu appears on the LCD mon-
itor.
See page 38 about how to operate the menus.
Align the cursor with with the top / bottom point of the jog
dial.
Select with the right / left point of the jog dial.
Press the [OK] button twice to set the remote control mode and
exit from the menu.

Press the shutter release button down halfway to lock the focus.
The green lamp inside the viewfinder will light up to indicate the cam-
era is ready to take the picture.
Cover the viewfinder with the lens cap holder to block incoming
light from the viewfinder.
Press the shutter release button down all the way.
The self-timer signal lights up.
10 seconds later, the self-timer signal will start blinking and 2 sec-
onds after that, the shutter will click.

NOTE
• The self-timer mode is automatically canceled after the picture is
taken.
• To cancel the self-timer mode without taking a picture, make a can-
cellation on the on-screen menu.
• To stop the self-timer while it is counting down, press the [ ] but-
ton once. This will stop the timer, but it will not cancel the self-timer
mode.
• Keep the camera steady and firm with a tripod or by other means.
