8.8.2 Automatic start for the bipolar mode BiSoftCoag

If the tissue resistance is within a dened range, then the Autostart feature permits
automatic activation of the output power as soon as both electrodes of the electrosurgical
instrument touch the tissue. Consequently, activating by foot switch is not necessary.
The HF output only stops when the contact between the HF instrument and the tissue is
released.
It is possible to set a time delay so that the automatic activation does not start immediately
but only after a certain time after the electrodes of the instrument get in contact with the
tissue.
Autostart is available only for the bipolar mode BiSoftCoag.
8.8.3 Automatic stopping for the bipolar modes AutoCoag and HardCoag
When coagulating tissue the electrical resistance of the tissue increases. Tissue resistance
is continuously measured by the electrosurgical generator so that it is able to detect when
coagulation is completed. As soon as a limited value of tissue resistance is exceeded, the
electrosurgical generator automatically stops the HF output.
The stopping of HF output is indicated by a special end tone.
