11 Maintenance
This chapter provides information on the regular safety check and on the maintenance
settings of the ESG-410.
Do not service or maintain any part of the product while in use with a patient.
Changing fuses
Be aware that fuses must only be changed by an authorized service center.
11.1 Regular safety checks
To ensure electrical safety and to maintain device performance, Olympus recommends to
perform a safety check annually or according to national regulations and guidelines on all
medical electrical equipment.
The regular safety check must only be performed by a qualied electrician with sufcient
experience in maintaining medical electrical devices. Furthermore, the appropriate
equipment for performing the safety check must be available. Details on the regular safety
check are described in the maintenance manual for the ESG-410.
Alternatively, the electrosurgical generator and the foot switch can be sent to an
authorized service center where the regular safety check is performed. Contact the local
Olympus representative for information on authorized service centers. When sending the
electrosurgical generator and the foot switch to an authorized service center, consider the
information in the section “12.2 Shipment” on page 92.
