SETTING THE
ASA
FILM SPEED DIAL
Setting
the
correct
ASA
film
speed
on
the
camera
is
one
of
the
most
important
factors
in
obtaining
properly
exposed
pictures.
To
set
the
dial:
CD
Lift
up
the
outer
collar
of
the
exposu
re
compensation
dial
and
rotate
until
the
ASA
speed
for
the
film
appears
in
the
window.
®
The
ASA
film
speed scale
on
the
dial
is
marked
from
12
to
1600.
If
you
are
not
able
to
rotate
the
outer
collar
to
the
desired
ASA
in
one
turn
of
the
dial
(only
3 stops
can
be
rotated
in
one
turn
of
the
dial)
, release
the
collar
and
turn
the
exposure
compensation
dial
several
click
stops
in
the opposite
!Jirecton
from
the
ASA
you
are
trying
to
set.
Then,
lift
the
outer
coliar
again and
con-
tinue
turning
to
the
desired
ASA
setting.
Repeat
this
procedure
until
the
desired
ASA
can be
seen
in
the
dial
window.
NEVER
FORCE
THE
DIAL
WHEN
SETTING
ASA.

® Once
the
setting
has
been made,
turn
the
dial
until
tne
white
line
is
aligned
with
the
black
index
line
on the
pentaprism
housing.
CAUTION:
Make
sure
you
align
the
white
black
index
line
on
the
pentaprism
after
wise
ASA
setting
cannot
be
correctly
accorTlOliS~led
-THE
MEMO
HOLDER
A
memo
holder
is
provided
on
the
camera
back
.
The
holder
accepts a
slip.of
memoorthe
end
flap
from
most
35mm
film
packages
as
a
reminderof
ASA
,
exposure
number,
etc.,
which
can be inserted
from
the
bottom
as
shown
in
the
photo
.
