Olympus OM-2 - Depth of Field

DEPTH OF FIELD
Depth of field is the area of acceptable sharpness in front of
and behind the subject in focus . As you get closer to your
subject or as you open your lens (e.g. fr om F22 to F2 . 8)
the depth of field becomes shallow er. By stopping your lens
down (e.g. from F2 .8 to F22) or getting farther away from
your s ubject th is depth of field can be increas ed .
The table at right shows that wh en the ca mera-to-s ubj e ct
rlis tanc e is 3 m, th e depth of field at F 16 ra nges from 1. 93m
to 6. 93m.
As you press the preview button , looking through the vi ew -
fi r- der , you can ascertain the actual depth of fi e ld .
