necessary for correct color. conversion
and light balancing filters are the only
effective way of achieving the desired
results .

• Lens Hoods
Lens hoods protect against ex traneous
light striking the lens and causing un -
wanted glare . Hoods for standard lenses
are cover types and can be reversed to
provide easy storage even when the cam-
era is in the case.
Five lens hoods are optionally available
(see TABLE OF INTERCHANGEABLE
LENSES on p. 47 & 48.)

Similar to UV filter . Eliminates ultraviolet rays. Reduces haze and bluish tones in daylight
photography . Effect ive with color film only . May be used at all times to protect the lens.

Redu ces the quantity of light entering the lens to 112 or 1/4 of the original intensity . For
use in extremely br i ght cond itions when you wish to ma i ntain a wide aperture .
Enables you to take pictures through glass or water without reflections . Wilt darken the
sky in black·a nd-white photographs without altering other color values in the pi cture, and
renders blue skies darker when used with color film. Reflecti ons are reduced to provide
better texture surface detail.
Accentuates contrast, darkens blue skies. Very effective in daylight scenes where the sky is
part of subject matter . Height ens the effect of white clouds . Useful in copying documents
where line copy is - blue or black on light background .
Absorbs a wider range -of wavelengths from UV to dark green than the Y2 . Makes a 5Uperb
renditio n of the texture of outdoors subjects , and indoors . It brings out detail in objects
yellow, brown . Used with i nfrared film.
Used as
contrast filter to create darkened sky or in copying . Also used to penetrate haze
in
landscape photography for stronger contr ast than an 02 filter. Used with infrared film.
For use when taking co lor pictures in cloudy or rainy weather . Reduces bluish tone .
Designed for use
when taking color pictures in early morning or late evening hours when
red ravs are predom i nant .
