The 0 L YMPUS OM System Lenses are prov i ded with an in-
frared index mark engraved in red on the depth of field scale
to the right of the reference dot .
When
shooting w i th ' infrared film, focus normally on your
subject with o ut the red filter on and read the subject dis -
tance on the distance sca l es. T hen, t urn the focusing ring to
the right u nti l the dista nce reading is opp osite the infrared
index mark. Yo ur lens wi ll then be in focus for average in-
frared photograp hy . Shoot with the red f i lter on . In the
above picture, the red index is set at infinity .
CAUTION : Infrared photography is not availab le on AUTO
mode .

CAMERA BACK REPLACEMENT
The camera back of the OM-2 is fully interchangeable with
the Recordata Back 2 and 25 0 Film B ack 1. To remove the
camera back, push down on the release pin as shown . Do
not remove the back unless necessary. .
The Recordata Back 2 registers data such as date, number ,
alphabetical code, etc . directly on the picture .
The 250 Fi lm Back 1 is designed for winder or motor drive
shooting ; it accepts a bulk loaded magazine of 250 frames.
