1-4-1 CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) Communications Services
User-specified CIP commands can be sent to devices on the EtherNet/IP network. CIP commands,
such as those for reading and writing data, can be sent and their responses received by executing the
CIP Send instruction from the user program in the NJ-series CPU Unit (without a connection).
CIP messages (CIP commands and responses) can also be transferred to another CIP-based network
via the EtherNet/IP Unit with the CIP routing function for message communications. With NJ-series
Controller, CIP routing between built-in EtherNet/IP ports and EtherNet/IP Units is possible.
Version Information
You can use the EtherNet/IP Unit with a CPU Unit with unit version 1.01 or later and Sysmac Stu-
dio version 1.02 or higher.
