What to do if Omron Blood Pressure Monitor cannot measure blood pressure or measured values are abnormally high or low?
- DDanielle ScottJul 26, 2025
If your Omron Blood Pressure Monitor displays abnormally high or low values, or fails to measure blood pressure, consider the following: 1. Ensure the patient remains still during measurement and try again. 2. If the patient has an arrhythmia, set the P-SET 30-40 mmHg higher than the estimated systolic pressure and measure again. 3. Verify the cuff size is appropriate for the patient's arm circumference, wrap it correctly, and measure again. 4. Make sure the arm with the cuff is at heart level during measurement and try again. 5. Remove any clothing that might be restricting blood flow and measure again. Also, assess the patient's condition. If needed, consult the list of error codes after checking the patient with a stethoscope.
