You need to mount the finder scope, and align it perfectly with the optical axis; just as
an optical finder scope as the first step… and a lot of more ….
12.1 Smart Scope using stellarmate
You can largely follow the steps described in this wonderful video with a few
differences. The video is for a different mount. You will have to choose the OnStep
LX200 classic driver instead. In the video the mount controller uses station mode
while the raspberry uses HotSpot mode. You will have to change it to the opposite
with OnStep controller, i.e., the OnStep controller to HotSpot mode and the RP4 to
station mode connected to OnStep’s WiFi network.
Once the stellarmate is installed; you will need to add two WiFi network connections:
 The first one is the interface to access to you home network (SSID and
password). Set a priority of 100 (well above the AP stellarmate).
 The second one will be a connection with SSID "ONSTEP" and password
"password". Please give it a priority of 200, higher than any other network
defined on your Raspberry.
 With this network setup, if OnStep is near and active, the RP4 will connect to
it. Otherwise, it will connect with your home network or if you are in another
place only with the RP4 it will activate it's own AP.
12.2 Smart Scope using ASiair Pro / Plus
If you want to use ASiair pro/plus, please refer this excellent video, with some
obvious adaptions.
The ASiair pro/plus is strongly recommended, which is more stable than the
stellarmate on an RP4.
13 Imaging with ULXXG
With the ability to add the focuser and rotator control on the Hubble OnStep
controller, Astro imaging and EAA with ULXXG is certainly an exciting possibility;
but you are on your own…at least for now.
14 Limited Warranty
Optel Engineering Group Inc., Seller, warrants to the original purchaser only, that
