Magnetic Card Reader
All MICROS Workstations and Tablets use a 3-Track American Bankers Association
(ABA) compatible magnetic stripe reader. It is used to read customer credit cards and
MICROS employee cards. Employee cards are used to sign employees on a
workstation and enter manager authorization ID numbers.
Scale
A scale is used with menu items that are priced by weight. The software can be
programmed to calculate weight in pounds or kilograms. Oracle MICROS recommends
the Mettler Toledo Ariva with RS232 interface and the Mettler Toledo Ariva-S-Mini with
RS232 interface.
Order Confirmation and Payment Terminal
Oracle MICROS currently uses the customer-facing MX800 series of devices from
VeriFone.
