R6000S Operation Manual: Rev. G
Sample Analysis To ensure the sample being analyzed is representative of the current process
status, sample to the analyzer must be filtered through a 5 micron (min) filter and delivered to the
analyzer by an approved, leak-free sample handling system. The sample handling system must
eliminate or minimize “dead volumes” and areas in the flow path where new sample can be mixed
with old sample.
System Leaks If allowed to continue, leaks in the system can either dilute the sample or change the
flow rate.
Light Leaks Light leaks in the detector or PMT housing will increase background noise.
Moisture Removal If the membrane dryer is not properly removing moisture from the sample,
sensitivity will be decreased.
UV Lamp Sensitivity UV lamp sensitivity is best when the lamp is nulled. If the lamp is not correctly
positioned, more scattered light is produced in the fluorescence chamber.
Gas Quality Air and other gases supplied to the analyzer must be filtered and pure as specified.
Preventative Maintenance In order to ensure proper performance, preventative maintenance (PM)
procedures must be performed at regular intervals.
