4.7.1 Electrical / Electronic Component Replacement
1. Before attempting to perform any troubleshooting and before taking any action to remedy an apparent
problem, ensure that all components of the analytical system and any accessories are properly
assembled.
Many of the components used in the electronic subassemblies can be damaged due to electrostatic discharges.
Always wear a grounded, static-prevention wrist strap when working with electronic parts and assemblies.
Replacing Components
In the event an electrical or electronic component needs replacement, the following steps should be
taken.
1. Unplug the AC power cord and then place the R6000S main power switch to the OFF position.
ELECTROCUTION HAZARD!
DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY WILL OCCUR IF NOT AVOIDED!
An electrocution hazard exists because severe electrical shock hazards exist
when working around the high-voltage and/or 115/230 VAC components while
power is applied.
HOW TO PROCEED: Avoid hazard by turning off the unit with the ON/OFF
switch and remove the power connection or power cord from the unit to the
power source. Also, follow any required lock-out/tag-out procedures your
company policy requires.
To prevent electrical shock hazard DO NOT operate this equipment in rain or
wet conditions.
2. Locate the electrical or electronic component to be replaced, and carefully remove any
interconnecting wiring noting their location.
3. Carefully, replace the defective electrical or electronic component with a new one.
4. Carefully, replace and secure any detached interconnecting wiring.
5. Perform the start-up procedure and a sample analysis to confirm proper operation of the new
electrical or electronic component.
6. Resume normal operation.
