5.22 Installing firmware on computer
You can install the firmware on your computer and then operate the measur-
ing unit from your computer.
A flash drive is included in the delivery of the device. The following folder on
the flash drive is needed to install the firmware on your computer:
• Frog_Installer_Fonts
To install the firmware on the computer, proceed as follows:
1. Copy the folder Frog_Installer_Fonts from the USB stick to the
computer
2. Run Frog_Installer_Fonts > Fidas_Frog_Installer >
Volume > setup.exe
3. Work through the setup wizard step by step
If necessary, change the install path for the firmware.
4. Restart the computer
5. Open the folder Frog_Installer_Fonts > Font_Open_Sans
6. Copy all files ending in .ttf to C:/Windows/Fonts
The font is installed.
7. Switch on the operating element and the measuring unit.
8. Copy the folder startup from the operating element desktop to the
computer desktop
9. Switch off the operating element
10. It may be helpful to set up a shortcut for the file FROG_STARTUP.exe
to be able to access it more quickly.
To connect the measuring unit to the computer, proceed as follows:
1. Verify that the measuring unit is switched on
2. Select the wifi network Fidas_Frog_[serial number] on the com-
puter
3. Activate the checkbox Connect automatically
4. Connect the measuring unit to the computer

5. Double click FROG_STARTUP.exe to start the firmware on the com-
puter
As soon as a measurement is recorded, the following directories are
created on drive C:
- FIDASFROG_DATA
- FIDASFROG_REPORT
6. Exit the firmware on the computer with Settings > General > key
Exit to OS
Always use Exit to OS to exit the firmware. If you exit the firmware
using Shut Down Panel, your computer will be shut down.
