6 Maintenance
Regular maintenance of the device extends the service life and improves op-
erational reliability.
Cleaning the device You can wipe the outside of the device with a damp cloth. Only use water for
cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Cleaning the aerosol
sensor
The cleaning interval of the aerosol sensor is a factor of how often the de-
vice is used and the conditions of use. We recommend cleaning it at least
once every six months.
The red error dot appears when the aerosol sensor is severely polluted.
NOTICE
Physical damage due to unsuitable cleaning agents
Destruction of the optical glass.
4 Optical glass may be cleaned only with a special cloth for optics
4 Do not touch optical glass with fingers
4 Do not use cleaning agents such as acetone
To clean the aerosol sensor, proceed as follows:
1. Release two socket screws on the sample collection tube bracket
A 2.5 mm Allen key is included in the delivery.
2. Lift out the sample collection tube and the bracket vertically
Lift the sample collection tube out vertically to avoid scratching the opti-
cal glass.
3. Place the sample collection tube aside.
4. Clean the optical glass in the aerosol sensor
The cleaning cloth is included in the delivery.
5. Put the sample collection tube back into place
Maintenance by the manufacturer
Maintenance interval Device maintenance is required every two years.
Maintenance message A message is shown on the display at the end of the maintenance interval.
Maintenance tasks Maintenance tasks are carried out by the manufacturer. Send the device to
the manufacturer.
