Note 1: The tote design maximizes fluid recovery, which can be further improved by
lifting the edges of the biocontainer in the last few minutes of the dispensing stage.
Typical residual volume following draining is typically less than 150 mL.
Note 2: If gas blanket is used during draining, this must be deactivated at the end
of dispensing.
4. Once drainage is complete, close the outlet port valve as well as all other inlets and outlets.
Remove inlet/outlet tubing from other systems so the mixer biocontainer can be removed.
5. Unlock and open the tote doors.
6. Remove the mixer biocontainer.
A. Pull out the shaft of the mixer biocontainer by placing hands directly under the system
(either side of the impeller) and pulling straight up.
Note: Sometimes in order to remove the impeller shaft from the drive adapter it
may be necessary (after long periods of use) to ‘rock’ the seal housing left and
right gently prior to full system removal in the vertical direction.
B. Fully remove mixer biocontainer from the tote and dispose of it according to site and
local regulations.
