What are all those icons?
You can monitor the status of several items using icons at the top of
your Today screen:

0
You missed an incoming call.
0
You have a voicemail message.
0
You have a new email, text, or multimedia message.
0
An error occurred during synchronization.
0
You have more than one of the conditions listed above.
0
Your phone is on. The bars display the signal strength.
The stronger the signal, the more bars appear. If you are
outside a coverage area, no bars appear.
0
Your phone is off.
0
You are outside a Verizon Wireless coverage area and
roaming on another mobile service provider’s network.
0
A voice call is in progress.
0
You are in an area that supports NationalAccess (1xRTT)
data services.
0
You are in an area that supports BroadbandAccess (EVDO)
data services.
