1 Connecting a telephone line to the internal modem
It is not possible to connect the internal modem to any of the following
lines.
Internal home phones
Intercoms
Connecting to a telephone line and settings
There are cases telephone construction (or installation) work will be
necessary depending on the shape of the connector of the tele-
phone line.
Do not use the PBX internal phone lines installed in company of-
fices. Doing so may lead to a fire or electric shock.
2 Select [Dialing Properties] in [Start] - [Settings] - [Con-
trol Panel] - [Modems]
Input the necessary information (items such as the area code) and then
press [Close].
Be sure to make separate settings to connect to network services like the Internet or
to use e-mail.
3 Set the country the modem is to be used in
Select [Device Manager] in [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [Sys-
tem].
Select [MP3930V-W (C) Modem] in [Modem].
Set the country in "Select a Country" with [Country Select].
Press [Apply], then press [OK].
There are cases the modem will not work properly when this setting
is incorrect.
Internal Modem
When [Internal Modem] is set to [Disable] in the Setup Utility, the
internal modem will not operate. (At the time of purchase, [Internal
Modem] is set to [Enable].)
