Installing/Removing the hard disk
(For technicians at Panasonic Technical Support)
Hard Disk Drive
To change your hard disk drive, contact Panasonic Technical Support
To customers:
To change your hard disk, contact Panasonic Technical Support.
Be sure to back up all important data before the change.
If [Hard Disk Lock] is set to [Enable] in the Setup Utility, change this to [Disable]
before the change.
To technicians (at Panasonic Technical Support):
Be careful when replacing the hard disk. The hard disk is extremely sensitive to
shock. In addition, static electricity could later affect some internal components.
1 Power off your computer ( “Starting Up/Shutting Down”)
Do not shut down using the suspend* or hibernation mode.
* With Windows 98, the “Suspend” is called “Standby”.
2 Remove the cover ( page 25)
3 Removing the hard disk
Turn the tab (black) over.
Pull the tab (clear) to disconnect the HDD connector.
Slide the hard disk inward to release it from the hooks.
Pull the tab (black) up and gently lift the hard disk.
Installing the hard disk
Put a hard disk into the computer.
Slide the hard disk until it snaps into place and is held firmly
down by the hooks.
Connect the HDD connector.
Turn the tab (black) down and set on the hole.
