Zoom types and use
Optical Zoom
You can zoom in without degrading the picture quality.
Maximum magnification: 30x

This function is not available in the following case:
• Panorama Shot Mode
• When recording with [Macro Zoom]
Extra optical zoom
This function works when picture sizes with [ ] have been selected in [Picture Size].
Extra optical zoom allows you to zoom in using a higher zoom ratio than Optical Zoom,
without degrading the picture quality. The maximum zoom ratio varies depending on the
picture size.
Maximum magnification: 59.2x (Including the optical zoom ratio.)

This function is not available in the following cases:
• Creative Video Mode
• Panorama Shot Mode
• [Handheld Night Shot] (Scene Guide Mode)
• [Toy Effect], [Toy Pop] (Creative Control Mode)
• When recording 4K photos
• When recording using [Post Focus]
• When [HDR] is set to [ON]
• When [iHandheld Night Shot] is set to [ON]
• When [iHDR] is set to [ON]
• When [Quality] is set to [

• When recording with [Macro Zoom]
• During motion picture recording
